Prophecy's Dawn

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.

Phase One
1/1/1001 to 6/28/1001

Alarel

Alarel works with the shipwrights of Zilargo and sees the laying the frame for the massive airship, the Cyran Dream, began. While work has begun he feels he must keep a constant watch on the gnome craftsmen and elemental binders. He knows he cannot trust them and must ensure that the ship must be perfect. He also begins research on a rare magical item, the Philosopher’s Stone, which is said to be able to bring back the dead but ends up only being able to chase a few rumors being so preoccupied getting the Cyran Dream project started. In the midst of all the chaos of his huge project he is still able to hire several small groups to go into the Mournland in search of his mother and remains from the Whitehearth facility.

Jorethan

Jorethan travels to the Shadowcraig mountains in northern Eldeen Reaches to meet up with the goliath tribes that live there. Already having a connection with them, being adopted by one of the tribes, he is able to quickly establish a good relationship with all of the remaining elders. He is able to begin helping the recovery process but after 6 months there is still a lot of work to be done before the tribes are doing well again. Not being one to sit still Jorethan also decides to go visit Darguun to see how the goblins were fairing. He finds the country in utter chaos. Lhesh Haruuc is dead and now the many powerful tribes of Darguun are waring for control of the country. On top of that the Valenar elves to the west have declared all out war on Darguun and blame them for the death of their High King. With problems too numerous to mention Jorethan can only watch as the nation of Darguun tears itself apart.

Rashira

Rashira angered at the devastation wrought upon the land decides that someone needs to help to repopulate the animal population. She goes to House Valadis where she spends 6 months of frustrating negotiation trying to get their help. At first she tries just hiring the house but quickly realizes they are fragmented and no longer communicating with each other. She redoubles her efforts and focuses her energy trying to guide the house back to working condition but hits roadblock after roadblock. On a brighter note she ends up making many connections with the Gatekeeper Druids and finds herself repeatedly talking with them and helping them with issues they are facing. Sadly because House Valadis is so difficult and because she feels it is a vital task that must be done she is unable to spend as much time with the druids or help them with the troubles they are having as she would like.

Rath’ear

Rath’ear spends most of his time and energy negotiating and working with the elves and undying of Aerenal to purchase and an empty tower which he plans to use as a place of arcane study and solitude. After a deed has passed hands he then focuses his energy on the purchase of several large Khyber shards and hiring the elemental binding gnomes of Zilargo to create an arcane matrix in his new tower in Arenal. With the shards and matrix in place all that is left is to capture and bind elementals to the matrix to bring the tower “online”.

Riev

Riev having helped her old companions save the world and defeat Father Lymic returns to the world of politics and espionage with new energy and determination. She decides that the best thing for her and her people is for her to return to her home nation of Valenar. After a few weeks spent in Valenar she finds the nation scattered and in chaos. The leadership of Valenar is completely destroyed. High king Vadallia has been killed by the goblinoids of Darguun reigniting an ancient feud. The war has taken its toll and along with the fiends and aberrations being unleashed onto the world the Valenar have been scattered into fragments of tribes all fighting for power and territory. Over 6 months while there she is able to gather several tribes under her rule carving a trail through the country. However while she does this another tribe has grown as well lead by Taerdra Jennaris a highly decorated revenant blade and a powerful warrior.

Tobo

Tobo upon returning to the material plane and being instrumental in saving the world decides that the epic tale of Tobo (and the party) must be told to the world. He spends the first few months scouring Khorvaire for the best author alive. Working with the bard he helps him to create the greatest masterpiece of his writing career. A novel of the parties amazing deeds throughout the past 5 (3) years led by the brave, wise, and fearsome Tobo. Next he scours all of Khorvaire again this time gathering an army of hundreds of bards, each hired to tell the story of the adventures of Tobo and his companions as well as give out free copies of the book. In just a few months the story is told throughout taverns and gathering halls in all major cities of Khorvaire and hundreds of books are given to any who will take them.

Rumors

In the time back the party hears of several disturbing things:
2 points – The nation of Droaam has become restless and reports of a massive army marching across the Greywall mountains into Breland is circulating. Breland asks for assistance in defending her borders.
2 points – Thrane has been sending envoys of healers and evangelists of the Silver Flame to the nations around them, especially Breland and Zilargo, but they are stretching thin on funds. The Council of Cardinals asks for aid in bringing physical and spiritual healing to all who need it.
2 points – Zilargo claims that the island of Aerenal is unlawfully stopping all shipment of soar wood for an undetermined amount time. The elves of Aerenal claim that because of recent events coupled with a large amount of soar wood sent out for a “special project” they feel they now need to protect their forests. The gnomes claim that this embargo spells doom for the recovery for the Zil economy.
2 points – Aundair requests an investigation in the nation of Karrnath. They report that they are violating the Treaty of Thronehold and are amassing a large army. Karrnath demands proof for these bold claims but Aundair refuses to say how they received this information.

Phase Two
7/1/1001 to 12/28/1001

Alarel

Alarel continues to work relentlessly on the great airship the Cyran Dream. After a year of work the massive vessel begins to resemble something of a completed ship. Measuring almost 400 feet long and over 100 feet across at it’s widest the ship fills several merged hangers in Trolanport, Zilargo. Working with Rath’ear he is able to negotiate with the elves of Aerenal to continue shipments of soarwood to Zilargo for the few projects they have. Alarel also continues to send groups into the Mournlands, specifically the area around the ruins of Whitehearth. While no word has come back on any remains of his family he has begun to gather an interesting smattering of what remains of research notes and equipment. Any remaining time he has he spends at home with his growing family and researching the Philosophers Stone. While making no notable headway on how to make the stone he knows he is getting closer to unlocking its secrets.

Jorethan

Jorethan continues to be on two halves of the continent at once. Over time with the Goliath tribes of the Shadowcraigs he is declared chieftain of the tribe that he was originally adopted by. Sadly he continues to hear disturbing reports from his peregrine runners on the status of the other tribes throughout the mountains. From what he can figure his tribe is the only one that has fully stabilized from the disasters. There have even been rumors of an entire tribe disappearing after being attacked by hoards of demons from the north. The situation in Darguun does not fair much better. Jorethan continues to run diplomacy missions across the country and is now on good standings with the Kech Volaar, Kech Sharaat, and even the bugbear-led Marguul tribes. The tribes do not make his work easy, however, and still refuse to work together. Worse yet the largest two tribes, Kech Sharaat (the bladebearers) and Kech Volaar (the wordbearers), have decided to march west and have engaged their ancient enemies, the Valenar elves, in all out war.

Rashira

Rashira continues to struggle with House Valadis. She wants nothing to do with the house other than to hire their services to help repopulate the animal population of the continent and yet she finds herself having to do menial tasks to help ensure the house stays organized and afloat financially. On the positive side she has been able to start a re-population program within the house that will begin the long process of making sure the natural balance returns to normal. Hearing rumors of unrest and gathering armies in Droaam she makes a journey to The Great Crag to meet with the Daughters or Sora Kell to “negotiate” peace. To her surprise she finds that she is expected by the daughters, specifically Sora Teraza who explains she has had a vision that “a tiger would liberate Droaam melting the icy grip of oppression with the fires of power and passion.” The main issue is that an Ak’chazar (white tiger) rakshasa named Xokek the White Fire has claimed the title of chosen of the daughters and has gathered an army comprised of roughly one third of Droaam. The only reason he has not led Droaam to war already is that the daughters have remained oddly silent, neither supporting nor opposing his rise to power. In the midst of all of the chaotic power struggles she is involved in Rashira still finds time to visit and support the Gatekeeper druids being sure to provide them with any assistance they need in their slow steady recovery.

Rath’ear

Rath’ear continues to work on his tower in Aerenal. He spends a large portion of his time hiring and training local magically talented elves (and some other races). His promises to train and provide for anyone who talented enough to study under him in exchange for daily chores they must do. While making connections in Aerenal he hears of the situation with Zilargo and the soarwood shipments and goes before the Undying Court to request an extension on the normal shipments due to extraneous circumstances. He also asks the Court that should they have any issues or suspicions with behavior of the Zilargo shipwrights to contact him before making any drastic decisions. After establishing a sizable working force on the tower Rath’ear leaves on a trip for the plane of Syrania, the Eternal Sky. He pilgrims for several weeks and makes contact with a city of royal djinn (air genies) establishing the beginnings of a relationship. Through his new contacts in Syrania he is guided to a powerful elemental oracle called Euras, the East Wind Over the Mountain. He offers her a chance to travel the planes and assist travelers like himself by binding herself to his tower. In exchange he would be her moral speaker and occasionally speak on her behalf when needed. She agrees and together they return to Aerenal where she is bound to the tower. Once back Rath’ear realizes the time is right to find a mate. He seeks out a beautiful talented elven woman to court and finds the Lady Invidia Galafor, High Sorceress to the house of Galafor. Not one to scoff on tradition he takes the time due in courting her and after a month feels it is almost time to ask for her hand.

Riev

Riev continues to try and bring her home nation together. She spends almost all of her time strategizing and coordinating bands of warriors who have come together under her banner. Day by day she gains more and more warriors and continues to clear out the remaining fiends and aberrations still roaming freely killing what they encounter. After almost a year of fighting her own people in the name of a united Valenar she is able to get her only remaining rival Taerdra Jennaris to meet and discuss terms. Taerdra comes to the meeting as promised and states she is willing to follow under Riev’s banner as long as they take their combined army and crush Darguun. Meanwhile back in Karrnath the Order of the Amethyst Skull commanded by Judge sends tasks forces to look into the supposed “rising” Karrnathi army. With the connections they have around the nation they are able to reconnoiter several different cities and have found that the Karrnathi have been storing undead for years and that a force in the tens of thousands is getting ready to come to life.

Tobo

Tobo continues to produce and distribute his biography though in lesser quantities that he originally started at. With his story being told in every tavern across Khorvaire he starts receiving messages from (almost) all the nations requesting that he come to visit to raise the moral of the people with his presence, skill, and stories. There are so many requests that he finds that he can’t keep up with all the places he promises to go. Realizing that he can’t let his fans down he decides to do something about it. In a stoke of genius (even for him) he hires a group of smart “numbers people“ to keep track of his schedule for him. This works quite well and for a while he misses no appearances. But then he realizes that not enough people know that they can request an performance from the great Tobo and thats why he hasn’t been getting overwhelmed with requests. So in another stroke of genius he hires a few more smart “numbers people” to contact major cities all across Khorvaire and let people know that for a modest fee Tobo the magnificent could come visit their ceremony or city party or whatever. Well before long the requests are rolling in again and the smart people he hired come to him with a plan. They ask if he would be willing to continue funding this new guild he has started and in return they would find other people who were almost as good as Tobo and help them to get recognized as well. Tobo tells them he will have to think about it. While thinking about it Tobo has another great idea, he travels to Zilargo where Alarel has all the gnomes working on his big ship. He finds the smartest and best dressed gnome he can find and tells him about an idea he had for an airship. It would be a giant airship with a tent in the middle a place for dinosaurs to perform in and it would travel from city to city and would be called Tobo’s Flying Circus. When the gnome tells Tobo what a great airship that would be he hands the gnome 60000 gp and tells him to get started right away and let him know when it was done or when he needed more money. Tobo then heads off to Auindar to visit with Rashira and her new House Valadis. While there he mentions to a few Valadis members that while they are helping to repopulate all the animals with Rashira that they should work on making sure the Talenta Plains have all the dinosaurs they lost as well. Then Tobo heads off to Thrane where he has heard that they need some help curing the sick. While in Thrane he visits with weary and sick people helping to cheer them up and he runs into the Keeper of the Flame Jaela Daran. She is much taller than he remembers and her hair has turned completely silver and there seems to be a new fire in her eyes. She tells him that she was tired of hiding behind the Council of Cardinals and has been riding around Thrane on her pet dragonhound (which is now a 20 ft long silver dragonhound with wings) helping cure the sick and bring hope to the nation. She says she is grateful to see a friend and to get his help with and that he is welcome back any time.

Rumors

In the time back the party hears of several disturbing things:
2 points – Disturbing reports have come in that Aundair’s warforged population is growing dramatically, especially in their military ranks. Aundair claims that they are simply opening their borders to all refugees in need. If those who refugees feel they would best server their new country in the military they see no reason to squelch their enthusiasm.
2 points – Coupled with looking into Aundair, Karrnath insists that Cannith, specifically the Sharn branch, also be investigated. While the creation of warforged is no long illegal in Breland, they claim that Cannith is violating the Treaty of Thronehold by assisting Aundair in amassing a large standing army.
2 points – Rumors of civil unrest in Breland have surfaced. Something has gotten the citizens or Breland in an uproar. If rumors are true, a civil war could be on the horizon.
2 points – House Valadis mentions that a select few members have been working on a secret project in their remote outpost in northern Lhazaar Principalities where they have successfully kept alive brood spawn creatures and are trying to magebreed them.

Phase Three
1/1/1002 to 6/28/1002

Alarel

Alarel spends only half his time working on the Cyran Dream in the first six moons of 1002 YK as he is far too busy investigating and addressing disturbing rumors from House Cannith. Despite the lack of time and resources he is able to spend on the project the gnome shipwrights of Zilargo assure him the project continues at a steady pace and they should be just under 20% completion by the end of Nymm.

While the building of his vessel goes on without him, Alarel contacts Baroness Jorlanna d’Cannith at her home in Fairhaven, Aundair inviting her to a dinner to discuss the latest affairs and to catch up on house business. Through the course of the meal Alarel is able to fool Jorlanna in admitting that through shrewd negotiations with the Aundairian military she has ensured the financial stability of the house for years to come. What this deal entails she does not say but it could be a clue to the rumored warforge army.

After meeting with Jorlanna Alarel decides to do some investigating of his own. After several back alley meetings and bribes in the right hands, he learns that a creation forge has been activated in one of the secret chambers in the floating towers of Arcanix.

Even with traveling abroad and managing the construction of the Cyran Dream Alarel finds a little time to continue his research into the Philosophers Stone. Sadly, while more and more secrets are revealed he has yet to make the breakthrough discovery he needs to fully understand its power.

Also during this time several crews continue to bring back salvage from the Mournlands, focusing getting the last of the salvage from the Whitehearth facility.

Jorethan

Jorethan uncharacteristically spends most of his time in a single nation, Darguun. There he focuses his efforts on stopping all hostilities towards Valenar and to start bringing back a unified Darguun. Over the first six moons of 1002 YK he is able to single handily stop all military campaigns in Darguun and to get the leaders of the Kech Volaar and Kech Sharaat to agree that unifying the goblinoid races is more important that going to war. Though the meetings are a good step the third major power group, the Marguul bugbear tribes, refuse to meet to recreate a weak nation like Lhesh Haruuk’s Darguun. The Kech Volaar suggest to Jorethan that perhaps the time of the Dhakaani Empire has returned.

While mostly focused on Darguun, Jorethan still has time to return home to his tribe in the Shadowcraig mountains and oversees the relief efforts to help other neighboring goliathan tribes. With his help support efforts are able to reach hundreds of goliathans in need. Only one tribe located in the far western portion of the mountain range still reports the need for aid.

Rashira

Upon hearing the news that House Vadalis has been secretly magebreeding aberrations Rashira immediately puts a stop to it. After pressing the heads of the house for the location of secret laboratories housing the experiments she heads out along with her brother, Jorethan, to make sure everything is destroyed. While Rashira literally destroys the entire facility, Jorethan is able to make sure that all personnel are safely evacuated. In the aftermath House Vadalis excoriates the head of the experiments, breeder Kantar d’Vadalis and give him a life sentence in Dreadhold. As an olive branch to Rashira they begin working on how to breed a dire pegasus.

The majority of the remainder of Rashira’s time is spent in Droaam building diplomatic relationships and investigating the mysterious figure of power Xokek the White Fire. She is able to discover that his plans are to become the first king of Droaam and then take his armies to conquer west and north (Shadow Marches, Eldeen Reaches, and the Demon Wastes) and that he has a personal guard of a dozen fire giant warlocks. Meanwhile, Xokek continues to expand his armies to now control the north-western half of Droaam.

Whenever she gets a spare moment Rashira continues to communicate and work with the Gatekeeper druids organization. In her dealings with the Gatekeeper druids, Rashira meets a druid shifter by the name of Tashlon Calmheart who eventually expresses an interest in her. Rashira has considerable doubts as to the wisdom of such an idea, but agrees to travel with him in order that they might get to know one another better. On one of their trips they are ambushed by bandits and Rashira is wounded. In a frenzy of claws and blood the bandits are shredded leaving Tashlon the only person left alive. As her uncontrollable rage makes her turn on him he calmly stands his ground and just before she can strike a familiar wave of calmness washes over her. Relieved but confused Rashira asks how he could do that without casting any spells. Tashlon explains that ever since he took a vow of peace he has been blessed by Olarune with a calming aura. She starts to believe that she might have a chance at a family.

Ra’thear

Rath’ear spends three months planning his wedding to the Lady Invidia Galafor, after she accepted his proposal. The wedding is a grand event held in the elven homeland of Aerenal in a clearing of an ancient forest. Both sides have very large extended families and the guest list is as large is it is pretentious. The party is also invited, no matter where they are on the Eberron their invitations are personally delivered by a teleported messenger. As part of an elven tradition each of the party will also be given masterwork elven crafted items; a silver necklace with a ruby for Alarel, a belt with a gem encrusted golden buckle for Tobo, a golden circlet with gems for Rashira, a silver dagger with a ruby hilt for Riev, and a golden bracer with gems in it for Jorethan.

For their honeymoon Rath’ear and Invidia Shilrenendir travel to Syrania, the Azure Sky and home to angels, powerful air elementals, and several courts of Djinni, the genies of air. Rath and Invidia stay with one of the Djinni groups that Rath’ear has been building relations with and together they continue to establish strong bond of friendship with their hosts.

While staying mostly with the Djinni court on Syrania, Rath’ear continually travels back and forth between the plane of air and the material plane mostly to coordinate construction of his tower. The 70 ft tower is already physically complete and Rath’ear spends this time adding living accommodations, supplies, as well as magical and mundane defenses.

Riev

Riev continues to focus mainly on Valenar, trying to stabilize the nation and to prevent infighting. With the new alliance and a large army at her command she tries to slow the demand for immediate war and instead insists on reconnaissance and information gathering. Leading a team of elite soldiers and her 2nd in command, revenant blade Taerdra Jennaris, Riev scouts the Darguun eastern border and finds that the troops previously believed stationed there are gone. Taerdra insists that the scouting party should take advantage of the lessened defenses but after arguing with Riev concedes that it is wiser to plan their moves rather than making rash decisions. Upon looking further into what started the war, the assassination of King Shaeras Vadallia, Riev finds several inconsistencies with the initial results that blamed Darguun. More resources would need to be spent in order to find the truth of what happened.

Meanwhile in Karrnath Judge continues to investigate rumors of an undead army, now accompanied by his daughter Ama’Riel who was recently sent north by her mother so that she could help her father. Riel has began to show remarkable talent in the school of necromancy as well as an eagerness to learn more and rather than shun this talent both Riev and Judge plan to hone it so as to make their daughter a deadly weapon. Together with a handful of elite Amethyst Skull knights the two personally investigate the rumors of the Karrnathi undead army. Breaking into several of the old forts on the southern borders Judge finds evidence suggesting that King Kiaus III has been stealing and creating undead for years, even after the Treaty of Thronehold. While the evidence is not conclusive if it were to be presented and held to be true by the five nations it would mean Karrnath had declared war on all of Khorvaire.

Working in conjunction with Alarel, Riev taps some hidden Blood of Vol contacts in Arcanix, Aundair that owe her favors to investigate the rumors of a creation forge in that has recently been reactivated. Her contacts are able to give a specific location for the forge but warn that it is kept under the highest security and that with this task complete they no longer owe Riev any favors.

Tobo

Tobo spends the majority of his time in Breland investigating rumors of a brewing civil war, managing production and distribution of his famous memoirs, and helping the fledgling Endorsement Guild gain a foothold in a new market. Using his amazing people skills Tobo hits the streets of Sharn and Wroat connecting with the people and learning what troubles them. Tobo is able to find that there are in fact talks and rumors of rebellion, mostly in Wroat but also an alarming amount in Sharn. The main reason for these talks focuses around the fact that the Brelish crown has ruled that house Cannith is once again allowed to create warforged. Because of the ruling the black market for warforged has come back in full swing and many are starting to question whether warforged should have the same rights as others. The other side of the argument is against both the sale and creation of warforged arguing that the “making of slaves” should always be against the law. There are no riots in the streets yet but things could blow up any day.

While majority of Tobo’s time in spent in Breland most of his money is spent on his newly commissioned airship. Construction of the odd vessel continues at an astonishing rate but the gnome craftsmen tell Tobo that the vessel is only half done and that if he wants to see a launch by the end of year he would need to contribute at three and a half times (21 points) the rate he had for these six months. However if he is content with the maiden voyage in twelve months he can contribute at a rate of one and three quarters times as much (10 and then 11 points).

Rumors

0 points What do you do with the information Judge found in Karrnath? This information is only circumstantial but points to King Kaius III of Karrnath building up undead troops even after the Treaty of Thronehold.
0 points What do you do with the information that house Cannith is most likely making warforged in Arcanix, Aundair? The information is only rumors. More information could be gathered but points would have to be spent.
Variable points What side of the rebellion in Breland would you like to support, if any? The side for denying the rights of warforged or the outlawing of warforged creation?
4 points Investigate the assassination of King Shaeras Vadallia of Valenar. It happened over a year ago but new evidence found by Riev points to something odd with the story that it was Darguun assassins.
2 points Entire tribes from the Talenta Plains have been seen moving into Valenar, taking territory for themselves, establishing permanent camps, and raiding local cities.
